This is my first time writing to you, and I hope you enjoy this read.
I started my journey with GenZtechies as a social media intern in 2021 with just six months of experience in tech. In 2022, we hosted our first-ever GenZHackFest. I had the honor of hosting the panel discussion and assisting my lead with social media. It was my first time on stage, engaging with industry experts and leading a conversation. This event was a milestone for both me and GenZtechies, and we achieved our goal of creating a vibrant community event.
GenZHackFest 2022 was a huge success with a 1 million naira cash prize and over 500 young tech enthusiasts in attendance. We were young, inexperienced, but ready and optimistic. Seeing the impact we made on our community was incredibly fulfilling.
Following this, I took on the roles of social media manager and community manager. By 2023, I was leading Media and Community efforts. Our marketing for GenZHackFest 2023 was so successful that we sold out the event, doubling our attendees to 1,000 and offering over 1 million naira in cash prizes. It was bigger and better!
One thing I love about GenZtechies is our sense of community. We've grown and improved immensely. We've never had a bad event, and that’s something we’re proud of
